Today, a ceremony at the Wisconsin State Capitol saw Governor Tony Evers honor 11 individuals and eight organizations with the Governor's Financial Literacy Awards for 2024. The awards commend efforts to bolster financial literacy and capability among Wisconsin’s residents.

Governor Evers emphasized the importance of financial education, stating, “Financial education gives people the tools they need to achieve their goals, expand new opportunities, and help attain financial security for themselves and their families.” He added, “These dedicated individuals and organizations are doing important work to help Wisconsinites become more financially secure and prepare for their futures, which is a critical part of strengthening the financial well-being of our entire state. I thank these dedicated individuals and organizations for all they have done to help advance financial wellness in Wisconsin, and I congratulate them for receiving this prestigious award.”

This year’s awards recognized contributions across three categories: individual, organization, and legacy. Each award is given for exceptional financial literacy and capability education delivered inclusively and innovatively. The legacy award, intended as a one-time recognition, acknowledges a sustained commitment to financial literacy and capability in a recipient's purpose and heritage.

The specific list of recipients remains undisclosed, though the awards continue to recognize significant contributions to financial literacy in the state. The ceremony highlights the ongoing efforts to elevate economic knowledge and skills among residents, fostering both individual and community financial health.
