A birthday celebration was recently held for Bucky Badger, the mascot of the University of Wisconsin–Madison. The event highlighted campus spirit as students began a new academic year.

The festivities took place as part of efforts to welcome students back to campus. According to university communications, "Badgers are back! Campus has reawakened as students settle in for a new academic year." This message reflects the sense of tradition and community that accompanies the start of classes at UW–Madison.

The institution is also addressing physician shortages through an accelerated program graduating doctors ready to serve rural areas.
