The 6th Annual Ryan Copeland Memorial Golf Outing took place on July 16th and Rudy went to work helping get donations and raffle prizes for the outing from local businesses and community members. This year they had over 45 raffle prizes donated for the outing. The outing went very well and fundraised over $10,000! K9 Rudy wants to thank all the community members, businesses, officers, and volunteers that went into making the outing successful!
Officer Craft and Rudy also spent time designing and getting new t-shirts to be sold for fundraising. The shirts have just arrived and are for sale at the McFarland Police K9 store. Rudy had a great time in an impromptu photo shoot with a police staff member to sport the new shirts, with even a few free cuddles thrown in! Just like the golf outing, all proceeds from donations and T-Shirt sales, go directly into the K9 fund to support Rudy, supplies, and maintenance needed to keep the K9 Unit operational.
On top of all the weeks of preparation and work that goes into the golf outing, t-shirt sales, and fundraising efforts, K9 Rudy and Officer Craft have also been busy taking calls for service. So far, Rudy has assisted in two drug complaints, an article search during an investigation, and a suspect track for someone who fled on foot from a hit and run crash. He's also had numerous visits with businesses, residents, and a daycare class to introduce himself and help him socialize.
Thanks for all the support to keep Rudy running!
