Starting Thursday, August 8, R.G. Huston will install asphalt binder on the north half of Wilson Street, between South Pinckney Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Traffic control devices will begin to be placed starting at 12 p.m., with most work occurring in the already closed traffic lane.

The intersections at South Pinckney Street & Wilson Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard & Wilson Street will be closed while R.G. Huston works in the area. Vehicles can travel southbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and South Pinckney but must make a U-turn and exit on Doty Street.

R.G. Huston will allow vehicle access to these intersections once the asphalt binder cures and general traffic can return. Paving operations are expected to conclude around 4 p.m.

There will be a 20 to 30-minute timeframe, likely between 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., during which the Wilson Street entrance/exit to the City-operated garage will be closed. During this period, all vehicles must exit the Wilson Street Parking Garage onto Doty Street, with no vehicles allowed to enter until the pavement is ready for driving.

Once the currently closed lane on Wilson Street is paved (August 8), traffic will switch to this newly paved lane to allow contractors to work on the south side of Wilson Street, between Pinckney Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, following paving operations.
