The Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) invites the community to celebrate the completion of its 2020 Referenda construction projects. After four years of dedicated effort, MMSD has transformed its four comprehensive high schools, unveiling future-ready learning environments designed to shape students' experiences for generations.
These upgrades were made possible through the support of Referenda 2020 and the commitment of Madison taxpayers.
The ribbon-cutting ceremonies are scheduled for August 30, 2024:
- Robert M. La Follette High School: Open House from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 10:30 a.m.
- East High School: Open House from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 11:45 a.m.
- West High School: Open House from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 1 p.m.
- Vel Phillips Memorial High School: Open House from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 2:15 p.m.
Event highlights include:
- Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies: Officially opening the newly upgraded facilities with ceremonial ribbon cuttings at each high school.
- Open House Format: Allowing attendees to explore the new learning spaces and discover enhancements designed for a dynamic educational experience.
- Guided Tours: Providing insights into the features and benefits of the new facilities, led by knowledgeable staff.
