The Madison College District Board of Trustees has decided to restart the search for a new president. This decision follows Dr. Carlos Cortez's withdrawal from the process, leaving only two candidates. The board believes this limited choice does not provide the breadth needed to select the best leader for Madison College.

Donald D. Dantzler Jr., Chair of the Board of Trustees, emphasized that finding a long-term leader remains their priority: "This commitment remains unwavering."

Gold Hill Associates, the firm assisting with the search, and the remaining candidates have been informed that scheduled interviews and forums will not proceed.

To maintain continuity, Dr. Tim Casper, Executive Vice President of Student Affairs at Madison College, has been appointed interim president effective January after President Daniels' retirement. The board unanimously supports Dr. Casper's leadership: "His appointment will help maintain momentum on key initiatives, foster strong relationships within our campus and broader community, and uphold our deep commitment to equity, access, and student success."

Further updates on restarting the presidential search will be provided when available. Questions can be directed to search@madisoncollege.edu.
