Community members are encouraged to stay informed by watching Board of Education meetings on the MCPASD TV YouTube channel. The recent meeting included several key updates and reports.

The Superintendent's Report, delivered by Dr. Dana Monogue, began with congratulations to the boys' soccer and volleyball teams for reaching state tournaments. She also announced the fall musical "Beauty and the Beast," scheduled for November 14-17 at the Performing Arts Center, and invited the community to attend the Bloom event on November 14, sponsored by the Middleton Cross Plains Education Foundation.

The Summer School Report was presented by K-8 Summer Academy Principal Brandon Tewalt, 9-12 Summer Program Principal Jennifer Zart, and Assistant Superintendent Silvia Romero-Johnson. They provided an overview of the 2024 Summer Academy program, which operated at Kromrey Middle School and Middleton High School. The program targeted students needing additional support based on specific criteria and maintained strong community partnerships. With ESSER funding concluded, plans are underway to continue programming under Act 20.

Superintendent Dr. Dana Monogue reviewed Quarter 1 Strategy Map information with progress updates on goals. Efforts include implementing a K-8 literacy/biliteracy curriculum supported by professional development days led by Savvas, applying a Multi-Layered Systems of Supports framework across schools, and revising middle school schedules for future academic years.

The District is working on initiatives to support staff through compensation committees, surveys for employee input, benefits planning processes, and diversity-focused recruitment efforts like the “Grow Your Own” program.

A long-range capital improvement plan is being developed in collaboration with McKinstry. Safety protocols remain a priority with scheduled drills guided by the Coordinator of Safety and Security.

Assistant Superintendent Jerrud Rossing presented a new U.S. Cellular Tower Lease agreement to replace an original agreement from 1999. The updated terms were approved by the Board of Education.
