For some neighborhoods in Madison, the final guaranteed leaf collection of the fall season is set to begin next week. These areas have a designated set-out day for leaves and yard waste on Sunday, November 10, 2024. Other neighborhoods will have later dates for their final guaranteed collections.
Residents are encouraged to visit the city's yard waste website at www.cityofmadison.com/YardWaste to find out when their last scheduled collection date will occur.
The final round of guaranteed leaf collection is expected to continue through the first week of December. However, it remains uncertain if additional collections will be possible later in December due to weather conditions. The same personnel responsible for leaf collection also operate snowplows, which may be required if there is a snow event.
In case further yard waste collections become feasible, announcements will be made accordingly.
Residents can also utilize drop-off sites for their yard waste. Information regarding hours and locations can be found at www.cityofmadison.com/DropOffSites. It is important to note that drop-off site hours change with the seasons, so residents should check when they switch to winter hours.
