The Madison College District Board of Trustees has initiated a new search for a president, with plans to appoint a successor by early April. The recruitment phase will continue until mid-December, after which up to five semi-finalists will be presented to the board in late January. On-campus interviews are scheduled for early March.

This decision follows the withdrawal of Dr. Carlos Cortez, one of the three finalists, from the process in October. With only two candidates left, the board felt it lacked sufficient options to make an optimal choice for Madison College. To maintain continuity, Dr. Tim Casper, currently the Executive Vice President of Student Affairs at Madison College, will serve as interim president starting in January upon President Jack Daniels' retirement.

Board Chair Donald D. Dantzler Jr. emphasized their commitment to finding "the right long-term leader" for Madison College and expressed confidence that this period would result in selecting an "innovative, caring, and dedicated leader."

Gold Hill Associates will manage the renewed search under its original contract without incurring additional costs due to restarting the process. The original search committee members have been invited back, and other college employees and community members will be asked to join to fill any vacancies.

Inquiries regarding the presidential search can be directed to the Madison College District Board of Trustees at search@madisoncollege.edu.
