MCPASD Education Foundation awards $14,505 in grants to local educators

The MCPASD Education Foundation has announced the recipients of its 2024 Inspiration Grants, which provide funding to support innovative educational projects within the district. The grants, ranging from $250 to $2,500, aim to offer inspiring learning opportunities and promote equitable access for students.

This year, a total of $14,505 was awarded to 15 educators. The foundation's 'surprise squad' visited each school to present the awards with music, balloons, and applause.

The recipients and their projects include:

- Abby Otteson from Middleton High School received funding for new technology in art classrooms.

- Aisha Myers at Middleton High School was supported for transportation and boarding costs for Black and Latino Student Union members.

- Cyrus Weaver from Middleton High School received funds for field trips related to the AP African American course.

- Erin Hommowun at Middleton High School was awarded vertical whiteboards for math classrooms.

- Genna Shapiro from Middleton High School received specialized bilingual training resources.

- LaRon Ragsdale at Middleton High School obtained materials for a Business Hub.

- Bryelle Coleman from Kromrey Middle School was funded for mural supplies in the Black Student Union classroom.

- Tricia Everett at Kromrey Middle School received support for a 5th Grade reading project titled "The Wild Robot."

- Amanda Struckmeyer from West Middleton Elementary School obtained new shelving to promote themed books.

- Marnie Hyland at Pope Farm Elementary School was awarded art tools for work with recycled materials.

- Kristine Bell from Northside Elementary School received durable resources and equipment for diverse learners.

- Elyse Grothaus at Park Elementary School obtained alternative furniture and seating options.

- Sara Arnholz from Early Learning Center received funds for playground adaptations supporting inclusive play.

- Gerilynn Rohrer at Cardinal Academy acquired a credit card reader for Cardinal Coffee.

These grants are part of an ongoing effort by the MCPASD Education Foundation to foster creativity and innovation in education.
