A resolution led by Senator Julian Bradley and Representative Tony Kurtz to advocate for a constitutional convention aiming to establish the number of U.S. Supreme Court justices at nine has been approved by the Wisconsin State Senate.

Senator Bradley stated, "As activist liberals in Congress debate packing the court, we must take action to protect the Supreme Court from radical activism." He emphasized that amending the Constitution would safeguard the court against politically driven changes, highlighting its role in addressing critical national issues like life, free speech, and religious freedom.

The resolution, known as Senate Joint Resolution 58, will now proceed to the Assembly. It does not require approval from Governor Evers for Wisconsin to express support for this constitutional amendment initiative.
