The deadline for filing candidacy papers to run for Alder in the City of Madison's District 18 has been extended. Candidates now have until 5:00 pm on Friday, January 10, to submit their documents. This extension also applies to those seeking a position on the Madison Metropolitan School District Board of Education for Seat 3.
According to election rules, when an incumbent decides not to seek re-election and fails to file a notification of non-candidacy, the filing deadline is automatically extended by 72 hours.
