Superintendent Dr. Dana Monogue recently visited Middleton High School as part of the February 2025 episode of "Monthly Update with Monogue." During her visit, she engaged with members of the Black and Latino Student Union (BLSU) to discuss the significance of their organization and Black History Month. Dr. Monogue also highlighted various district initiatives including school counselors, bus drivers, student kindness projects, and student involvement in government and business programs.
During her visit to Middleton High School, Dr. Monogue met with seniors Kaivion Whitelow, Jaylen Jeffries, Tamaria Jeffery, Oubedatou Ezoula, and sophomore Javianny Navarro. The students shared their perspectives on Black History Month and discussed how participation in BLSU has positively impacted them.
The district recognized its team of counselors during National School Counselor Week from February 3-7. According to MCPASD, these counselors are instrumental in ensuring that every student feels "seen, heard, supported and comfortable at school."
Wisconsin observed School Bus Driver Appreciation Week starting February 10. The district's 50 bus drivers were acknowledged for logging 4,216 miles daily across 247 routes while transporting thousands of students safely each day.
At Park Elementary School, third graders in Ms. Klare’s class undertook craft projects to spread kindness within the community by decorating items for organizations such as Meals on Wheels in Fitchburg.
Middleton High School seniors Nikhil Quintin and Blu Ginko participated in the Wisconsin Senate Scholar Program where they learned about legislative processes from figures like State Senator Dianne Hesselbein.
Over 750 students from local high schools attended the Future Business Leaders of America Regional Leadership Conference at Middleton High School on February 1. Middleton students excelled in events related to finance and technology under the guidance of Rishika Kommuri, FBLA Region Vice President for 2024-2025.
The first Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS) Showcase was held at Fiskars in Middleton where industry partners provided real-world experiences to students exploring career skills.
A Safety and Security Information Night is scheduled for February 27 at Kromrey Middle School where families can learn about safety protocols alongside law enforcement officers and Safety Coordinator Asher Torbeck.
