Starting April 3, East Wilson Street will be closed between S Pinckney Street and King Street for the ongoing reconstruction project. The closure is necessary due to underground utility replacements, making it impossible to maintain a travel lane through the work zone.

A detour will direct westbound traffic on Wilson Street to use King Street and S Pinckney Street. Temporary all-way stop signs will be placed on E Doty Street at S Pinckney Street to assist with the detour. Metro Transit bus stops will also be relocated during this period, with buses following the detour route.

Local traffic access to driveways will be maintained from either Pinkney Street or King Street, depending on the work zone's location. RG Huston, the contractor, will keep businesses and residents informed about changing access points.

The street closure is expected to last until mid-June. Updates on construction progress can be found on the project's website.
