The annual return of the iconic sunburst chairs to the Memorial Union Terrace marked the beginning of Terrace season at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. On April 18, the event was celebrated with performances by the UW Marching Band, an appearance by Bucky Badger, and a set by DJ Margaux.

A number of community members participated in the festivities. Among them were Bride Tila Aydin and Groom Yusuf Besparmak, who commemorated their wedding day with photos alongside the UW mascot. UW-Madison alumnus Russ Tilsner, from the class of 1988, joined in by mimicking the marching band's gestures. Tushar Mehendale and his wife, Awanti, danced to the band's music.

Faculty and students actively joined the celebration. Notably, graduate students Srihari Sridharan, Sahil Naphade, and Smit Shah took advantage of the day to capture a picture with Bucky. Chancellor Jennifer Mnookin also participated by posing for a memorable photo with the university's mascot.

Every year, the return of the chairs draws a broad segment of the public to Lake Mendota, turning the event into a semi-annual reunion for many.
