Middleton High School seniors Rohan Dileep and Bea Norman spoke with WMTV 15 News' Leigh Mills about the ongoing efforts of Middleton Meals Matter, a student-led nonprofit organization working to address food insecurity. Now in its second year, Middleton Meals Matter collected approximately 58,000 pounds of food during its first year. The donations were valued at over $100,000 and benefited WayForward Resources and Second Harvest Food Bank.
Dileep and Norman, who serve as co-presidents, discussed the organization's expansion beyond Middleton High School. They have helped launch six additional chapters at high schools throughout Dane County and one chapter in New Jersey. Their goal is to broaden their reach and impact by establishing more chapters both locally and nationally.
The students also highlighted ongoing partnerships with elementary and middle schools in an effort to encourage younger students to participate in fighting food insecurity.
To learn more about their work or how to support the organization, viewers are encouraged to watch the full interview or follow Middleton Meals Matter on Instagram.
