UW–Madison earns STARS Gold rating for campus sustainability efforts

The University of Wisconsin–Madison has received a STARS Gold rating for its sustainability efforts. The Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS) is a widely recognized framework for measuring sustainability performance in higher education.

This recognition places UW–Madison among the leading institutions in sustainability practices. The university continues to implement strategies and programs aimed at reducing environmental impact and promoting sustainable operations across campus.

Chancellor Jennifer Mnookin commented on the achievement, saying, "We are proud of this recognition and remain committed to advancing sustainability at every level of our institution."

UW–Madison’s ongoing initiatives include integrating sustainability into academic programs, improving energy efficiency, and supporting research focused on environmental solutions.
