METROPOLITAN MILWAUKEE ASSOCIATION OF COMMERCE issued the following announcement on May 27.
In April, MMAC hosted nearly 150 10th graders from Milwaukee Public Schools for a series of one-time career conversations with dynamic and diverse professionals from more than 25 local businesses.
Discussions focused on student’s interest areas, future career aspirations and academic career plans. Hosted at The Avenue, students also had an opportunity to hear from MMAC’s Corry Joe Biddle, Jasmine Johnson of iHeartMedia and Omar Shaikh of 3rd Street Market Hall as they shared their career paths and how their choices lead to professional success.
MPS students also explored The Avenue’s selfie museum in partnership with Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design courtesy of the 3rd Street Market Hall.
Previously in April, MMAC and the Brewers Community Foundation hosted the same students for a career experience day at American Family Field where they had a chance to interact with professionals who work in a wide variety of careers connected to the Brewers organization and the local companies that serve as its suppliers.
