Dr. Joe Gothard has officially introduced his entry framework, "People. Purpose. Pride." This initiative outlines Dr. Gothard's priorities and plans for the Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) and invites community engagement in his work.
"My leadership transition provides a unique window of time to reground, reconnect, learn and understand MMSD and the community as a whole, which is important to the work we have ahead," said Gothard. "I am committed to working collaboratively with stakeholders, leading with transparent communication and ensuring our decisions are grounded in what is best for our students."
The framework is built on three foundational pillars:
- People: Emphasizing engagement with stakeholders and collaboration for future planning.
- Purpose: Fostering shared goals, transparent communication, and student-centered decision-making.
- Pride: Celebrating the achievements of students, staff, and the rich history of the MMSD community.
"Entry plans are pretty common for new superintendents, but I’d like to offer that this isn’t just a once-in-time plan," Gothard stated. "This speaks to the many ways that I want to engage with the community on an ongoing basis. I want to emphasize that I cannot accomplish our goals alone. Together, we can positively impact our students’ lives and build a brighter future for them and MMSD."
A project webpage has been created to share updates on Dr. Gothard’s entry framework progress. Additionally, a new video has been added to the “Meet the Superintendent” web page.
