Former President Donald Trump said a campaign was launched against Vice President ’Kamala Harris by a Catholic organization because of her “anti-catholic” views and policies.
“A large group of Catholics is launching a major Political Campaign against Crazy Kamala Harris. FINALLY!” Trump posted on his Truth Social. “Catholics are literally being persecuted by this Wack Job, just ask the Knights of Columbus.”
“They say that she is the most Anti-Catholic person ever to run for high office in the U.S. This respected group wants ALL CATHOLICS TO VOTE AGAINST KAMALA, and they are 100% correct,” he said.
Catholic Vote, a faith based advocacy organization, has launched an ad campaign against Vice President Kamala Harris, urging Catholic voters across the country to vote against her.
“Kamala Harris represents the most vile, anti-Catholic threat of any leading candidate for president in American history,” Catholic Vote founder Brian Burch told Fox News. “She is a candidate of the hard left, and her record and her words demonstrate a gross anti-Catholic bias. “
Harris previously questioned judicial nominee Brian Buescher during his appointment process regarding his membership with the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic organization founded in 1882. Harris questioned Buescher about the organization’s stance against same-sex marriage and abortion, which were in alliance with the beliefs of the Catholic church.
"I can't believe I need to repeat it here in the U.S. Capitol, but there is nothing about living out one's faith that is disqualifying for public service. To the contrary, what the Constitution does forbid is imposing any kind of religious test for public office," Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kent.) said when Buescher was approved.
Madison, Wisconsin-based Catholic Vote is an advocacy organization that wants to “inspire every Catholic in America to live out the truths of our faith in public life,” according to the group’s website. Founded in 2008, its president is Brian Burch.
