Middleton High School celebrated a significant event on October 18, 2024, with the induction of eight individuals into its inaugural Athletics Hall of Fame. The ceremony began with a private reception before the homecoming game, allowing guests to reminisce and reconnect.

During the game, honorees and their families were acknowledged at the 50-yard line in front of an enthusiastic audience. Jamie Sims, Middleton High School Athletics and Activities Director, expressed his gratitude for leading the selection process: "It was an honor to be able to lead and construct such a great selection committee and navigate this process for over a year now. Being able to learn of the deep ties and history by way of Middleton Athletics helps to create a closer tie to the community in which I have been serving now since 2020."

The inductees' achievements are commemorated with photos and biographies displayed on the new Hall of Fame wall at the Borden Athletic Complex. This tribute serves as a reminder of their impact on the MHS Athletic community.

The honored individuals include Otto Britenbach, Bob Joers, Dewy Stendahl, Gene Stormer, James "Jumbo" Simon, Russ Shaub, Leo Simms, and the 1983 State Championship Football Team. Some awards were accepted by loved ones on behalf of honorees.
