The City of Madison has rescheduled its public test of election equipment to Wednesday, October 30. The event will take place at 9:00 a.m. at 2713 E. Washington Ave., and the public is welcome to attend.

Before every election, the Clerk’s Office conducts detailed testing of DS200 tabulators to ensure accurate vote tallying on Election Day. Following the tests, personnel from the Clerk’s Office secure each ballot box and scanner with tamper-evident seals that have unique serial numbers. These numbers are recorded on each polling location's Inspectors’ Statement, and poll workers verify them when opening the polls on Election Day.

"The goal of the City Clerk’s Office is that each eligible voter will be able to cast a ballot and have that ballot counted."
