Today marks the commencement of absentee voting for hospitalized individuals, a process available until 5 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5. Hospitalized voters can participate by appointing an agent to request and deliver their absentee ballot.

The appointed agent is responsible for submitting the absentee request to the Clerk’s Office, along with both the agent's identification and a copy of the voter's ID. If registration or updates are needed, the agent must also provide a voter registration application and proof of address.

Once these requirements are fulfilled, the agent delivers the ballot to the voter in the hospital. After marking their ballot and completing the certificate envelope, it is returned by the agent to the Clerk’s Office. All absentee ballots will be counted at polling stations on Election Day.

"The goal of the City Clerk’s Office is that each eligible voter will be able to cast a ballot and have that ballot counted."
