The Sun Prairie Area School District (SPASD) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting LGBTQIA+ students, staff, and families. In a recent communication to caregivers and families, the district emphasized its dedication to equity and inclusion as outlined in the School Board's Equity Statement.

The statement highlights the district's intention to maintain a supportive environment for all members of its community. "We stand by all of our students, staff, and families . . . The SPASD celebrates and values our diverse community," it reads. The district also stresses its responsibility to provide safe and non-discriminatory environments for people of all orientations and identities.

The communication encourages continued support for LGBTQIA+ individuals within the school community. It states that policies ensuring access to educational programs free from discrimination will remain in place throughout the school year. Additionally, resources are available on the district's website for those seeking further information or support.

The message concludes with an invitation for caregivers and families to reach out with questions or concerns. Superintendent Brad Saron, along with Assistant Superintendents Stephanie Leonard and Nick Reichhoff, signed the letter affirming their commitment to making schools welcoming spaces for everyone.
