Madison College has joined forces with the Transfer Scholars Network (TSN) to enhance transfer opportunities for its graduates at top colleges and universities in the United States. TSN, spearheaded by the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program and supported by the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, aims to improve pathways for students transferring from two-year colleges to four-year institutions with high graduation rates.
The network offers resources such as webinars, financial aid, and support to help Madison College students navigate the transfer admissions process. Eligibility for nomination into TSN is based on criteria including academic excellence, financial need, life experiences, and readiness for transfer. Once nominated, students receive personalized guidance through an application process on the TSN portal.
"This program is an amazing opportunity for Madison College students. We know the education that we provide our students is an excellent foundation for the completion of a bachelor’s degree and our participation as a partner confirms the rigor provided at Madison College," said Yohlunda Mosley Hill, Director of Transfer Services at Madison College.
Madison College has a strong track record in preparing students to transition to four-year institutions through its Liberal Arts Transfer Program. This program allows students to complete coursework in various fields such as Arts and Humanities, Education, Professional Health, Economics and Pre-business, Engineering, Pre-BSN Nursing, Social Sciences, and Science, Math, and Technology.
Since its inception in 2021, TSN has engaged 372 students from eight two-year colleges. Most participants achieved a GPA of 3.5 or higher and came from diverse backgrounds. In its first admissions cycle in Spring 2022, over 20% of TSN participants received admission offers from partner colleges—surpassing the average admission rate of 15.6%.
