Every February, the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District (MCPASD) acknowledges Black History Month to celebrate the contributions and struggles of Black leaders throughout American history. Recently, Superintendent Dr. Dana Monogue engaged with members of the Black and Latino Student Union (BLSU) at Middleton High School to discuss their perspectives on the significance of Black History Month.

During this meeting, students conveyed how BLSU has influenced their lives positively and expressed their aspirations to motivate other students. They highlighted the support they received from BLSU advisers Aisha Myers, Laura Taveras-Genao, and Antonio Hoye, emphasizing how this guidance has impacted them.

The students also offered advice for middle schoolers transitioning to high school, encouraging them to consider joining BLSU for support and inspiration.
