Madison, WI - Voters in Madison Ward 60 and Ward 134 have been granted an extension until 9:30 p.m. to cast their ballots at the UW-Memorial Union polling location.
Earlier today, confusion arose when staff at the front desk mistakenly informed individuals entering the building that no voting was taking place in the premises. This led to concerns among voters in these wards.
In response to this issue, the City Attorney's Office took action by petitioning the court to extend the polling hours for Wards 60 and 134. The efforts were successful, and an extension was granted.
A statement from the City Clerk's Office expressed gratitude, saying, "The City Clerk's Office would like to thank Judge Ryan D. Nilsestuen for granting the order to extend voting hours at this polling location today."
The extension of voting hours aims to ensure that all eligible voters in Wards 60 and 134 have the opportunity to participate in the democratic process without any hindrances.
