Madison College is set to host its Fall Concert series, featuring performances by students and community members on November 8, December 6, December 7, December 13, and December 14. The concert series will highlight the talents of the college's orchestra, band, choral collective, big band, and jazz ensemble.
The Madison College Music Program provides a platform for showcasing musical abilities in various venues. The series begins on November 8 with an evening of music from composers such as Verdi and Bach. The program includes a suite by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and a Mozart concerto featuring soloists Vini Sant'Ana on violin and Madlen Breckbill on viola.
A Holiday Celebration concert is scheduled for December 13. The Municipal Band will perform holiday melodies along with compositions by Vaughan Williams and Alfred Reed. Additionally, there will be a medley of songs from "Wicked," coinciding with the release of its movie adaptation.
The concerts are scheduled as follows: November 8 at 7:30 p.m. (Orchestra), December 6 at 7:30 p.m. (Choral Collective & World Drumming Ensemble), December 7 at 7:30 p.m. (Jazz Ensemble & Big Band), December 13 at 7:30 p.m. (Municipal Band), and December 14 at noon (Orchestra at Wisconsin State Capitol Rotunda). Except for the event on December 14, all concerts will take place in the Mitby Theatre located at 1701 Wright Street, where parking is available in the visitor lot.
