The Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) has reaffirmed its commitment to providing an inclusive and supportive educational environment for all students. The Board of Education emphasizes the importance of offering a safe, non-discriminatory space where students can express themselves freely.

"Our unwavering focus remains on our students," the statement begins, underscoring the district's dedication to educating and supporting every student regardless of their background or identity. MMSD aims to create environments that celebrate diversity and protect the rights and dignity of all students.

The Board highlights its efforts to ensure equitable access to opportunities through strategic resource allocation. "We actively protect the rights and dignity of every student and family," they assert, emphasizing their work in removing barriers to full participation in school life.

MMSD's policies are guided by resolutions supporting immigrant, refugee, undocumented, and LGBTQ+ students passed in 2017 and 2021 respectively. These reflect the district's core values of dignity, respect, and inclusion.

Nichelle Nichols, President of the Board of Education at MMSD, reiterated this commitment: "We will not waver in our commitment to providing all students who enter our doors with an inclusive education in a welcoming and supportive environment."

The district remains focused on ensuring that each student receives a quality education in an environment conducive to success.
