City of Madison staff are monitoring incoming storms expected to move into the area this afternoon and throughout the weekend. Current forecasts do not anticipate a major flooding event, but flash flooding in isolated locations remains a possibility, especially during intense rainfall. Engineering crews have been clearing debris from inlets in priority locations to ensure City storm sewers function optimally ahead of the storms.

Parisi Construction announces lane closure on Valley View Road for 1000 Oaks project
Starting on Monday, June 24, Parisi Construction will close a section of Valley View Road, from South Point Road to just past Lone Oak Lane, to continue progress on the 1000 Oaks project. This full excavation closure is expected to last several weeks, with roads anticipated to reopen in early August. While the bike lanes will close for the duration of this closure, access to the south side sidewalk will remain open.

Madison Parks is calling for volunteers as preparations for this year's Ride the Drive event intensify. Scheduled for Sunday, August 11, Ride the Drive celebrates Madison's healthy and active lifestyle by closing select streets, such as John Nolen Drive, to motor vehicles. The 4-mile route features six park hubs with vendors, exhibitors, food, and activities for all ages.
